What does Skywall need?
Home Wi-Fi and power. Skywall receives prepared images from an online service using public scientific sources.
Is it all in one?
Yes. The LED panel and the small computer that runs it are built into one frame, so there’s no separate box to set up beside it. Plug it in and connect it to your home Wi-Fi.
How big is it?
About 10⅛ × 5 inches and 1⅝ inches deep (257 × 127 × 41 mm), case included. The screen fills almost the whole front: 128 × 64 pixels behind a smoked diffuser. It sits on a shelf or hangs on two screws, and the screws are in the box.
Where is Skywall made?
In Buffalo, New York. I 3D-print every frame and assemble and test every display by hand myself. There’s no overseas factory involved.
How do preorders work?
Skywall is made in small batches. You pay $150 USD in full when you preorder, and I build and ship your display after you order. The first batch should ship by mid-November. See preorder details.
What does the $150 include?
A ready-to-use Skywall, free shipping within the USA, and the online display service. There’s no subscription, ever. You’ll need home Wi-Fi and power.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes. Skywall makes a thoughtful gift for someone curious about Earth and space. The first batch should ship by mid-November.
Where do you ship?
Within the United States only, with shipping included in the $150 price. The first batch should ship by mid-November. Delivery timing is an estimate, rather than a guaranteed date.
Can I cancel my preorder?
Yes. Cancel any time before your Skywall ships for a full refund. If it hasn’t shipped within 30 days of your order, you can also cancel then for a full refund. Email getskywall@gmail.com with the name and email used at checkout.
What is the refund policy?
You can return Skywall within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the $150 price. It needs to come back undamaged, with everything that was in the box; return shipping is at your cost. If it arrives damaged or stops working within those 30 days, email me and I’ll repair it, replace it, or refund you in full, and cover the shipping. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days.
Does it need Wi-Fi?
Yes. Fresh pictures come from the service I run, which is included in the price with no subscription, ever. Skywall needs home Wi-Fi to receive those updates.
